What this site collects

FrostDepthCheck does not need an account and does not collect personal information to show you a county's frost depth. The county search runs in your browser; what you type is not sent to us. Hosting infrastructure automatically logs standard technical data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for security and aggregate traffic measurement, and that data is not used to identify you.

Cookies

Analytics cookies may be set to tell repeat visits from new ones. If display advertising from Google AdSense is added, Google may set cookies to serve and personalize ads; see Google's own advertising and privacy policies for how that works.

Advertising and affiliate links

No affiliate relationship is live on this site today. If one is added, the affected pages will say so next to the link and this paragraph will name the partner. A commission would never change a county's frost depth here.

Third parties

Weather data comes from NOAA, a public agency; no personal data is exchanged with it. Hosting is provided by Firebase (Google). No data collected here is sold.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the limited data described above, for example under California's CCPA/CPRA, other US state privacy laws, or GDPR. These can include the right to know what is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of information for targeted advertising. To make a request, email hello@frostdepthcheck.com.

Google's ad-personalization controls are at adssettings.google.com, and industry opt-out tools are listed at optout.aboutads.info.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
